Hawaiian Don's

Hawaiian Don's 6-12-10
3837 Nw 10th St
It’s a small but cozy bar. We went on a Saturday “karaoke night” they had a small cover fee of $2 girls, $3 guys. We personally had a blast with having the opportunity to try 9 of their famous 60 oz drinks. I would highly recommend this bar for your loud group of friends or if it’s just you and your date sharing a fishbowl. I would most definitely make this bar a regular for me. Get ready to drink and perhaps karaoke. I would not only rate it 5 beers but also 5 fishbowls.
-UV
HD’s although very small was lots of fun, with their trade mark fishbowl drinks and the karaoke we were entertained for hours, so entertained that that we didn’t even mind not having any place to sit, the place was packed. The bathrooms were small and kind of gross, but who cares when you’re drunk right? And drunk you’ll be if you down a fishbowl by yourself. My friends and I decided to share which is a good way to try their whole fishbowl selections, oh and no worries if you don’t dig the big fancy drinks they have regular size drinks and beer! Oh and be sure to bring your own chalk so you can leave your mark on any wall you want, they are all painted with chalkboard paint, pretty sweet huh? So if you’re into crowded, fun and loud places this is the spot to be. I give HD’s 5 tipsy beers!!

Kush Hookah Lounge

Kush Hookah Lounge 3-19-10
12124 N Pennsylvania Ave.
This is a small but cozy Middle Eastern lounge. Kush is a reserved spot to sit back have a drink or enjoy hookah. Not only do they have hookah but also, a bar, live dj (Fri-Sat), Arabian night with belly dancers (Thur.) and Middle Eastern/Indian cuisine. Open seven days a week starting at 11 am best part is 18 to enter 21 to drink. I would rate it 2 beers, sit back and enjoy life.
-UV
Kush was pretty small but the hookah area was nice and comfortable, and they had an area with lots of pillows that was located really low to the ground so you’re almost lying down. They also have fruit hookahs, for those of you that don’t know what that is, they take a fruit like a pineapple and cut it in half, hollow it out and then they put the flavored tobacco inside the pineapple, yummy. I saw a pineapple one and tasted an apple one that the guys next to us let us have when they left, it was really good. The hookah was good but the drinks were too light, not nearly enough alcohol, and that coming from me means a lot, I don’t like the taste of alcohol, and I’m pretty sure our waitress was a little drunk, but she was nice, oh and the bathrooms were nice and clean. I give Kush 3 beers and puffs from the Hookah.

Tapwerks

Tapwerks 3-17-10
121 E Sheridan Ave.
If you start the partying on Wednesday than this is the place for you! Tapwerks is a two story bar with pool tales, food, variety of drinks, live band and friendly people. Want to try new beers from all over the world? You don’t have to travel so far when you can get it right from the heart of Okc. They have a well worth $5 cover fee when they have live band upstairs. I have been here several times and certainly plan on coming back. I would have to give this bar 5 or more genuine beers, don’t think about having the same drink twice!
-UV
Tapwerks was awesome; Judy, UV and I went for St. Patties/my b-day. The place was full of different people and it was lots of fun, the service was fast and fairly friendly. They also had a live band, which added $5 cover charge, the band was pretty good, not my kind of music, but still pretty good. The bathrooms were pretty clean for the amount of people at the bar, no complaints here. Oh and I didn’t see any vaginas at this bar, I’m definitely keeping track of that lol… I give this bar 4 1/2 lucky beers.

Sherlock's

(over friendly and annoying people we met)

(Jeica could not keep her eyes open)
Sherlock's 2-6-10
820 S MaCarthur
As soon as we pulled up to the parking lot I knew this was the place to be. They have a $6 cover fee but it’s well worth it. This is a nice size bar with a small dance floor surrounded by sitting area. They play from a selection of R&B, pop, country and even Latin music or you can always request a song. I would highly recommend this bar whether it’s just you alone, a date or a group of friends. I would rate it 5 beers, get ready to lose track of time and meet new people.
-UV
Sherlock’s was a cool country/miscellaneous bar, it would’ve been cooler if it wasn’t for the god awful black lights, they just don’t do anyone any favors, and the horrid bathrooms, which reminds me, I totally saw vagina!!!, I guess when you’re shit faced closing the door to your stall is not really a priority. Anyways the bar was full, the waiter was funny and decently fast and they even had a small dance floor for the patrons to dance off the calories from their drinky drinks, so elementary my dear Watson I give this bar 4 beers.

Martini Lounge

Martini Lounge 2-6-10
800 S Meridian Ave.
We went on a Saturday night it was very empty. There was only one person having fun and that was the drunk guy next to me. I have heard this bar has special events throughout the summer so we will definitely come back. Though it did seem like a nice place to take friends for a karaoke night followed by a game of pool. No cover charge. I refuse to rate it until a 2nd visit.
-UV
Ok well, we went from excited to bored out of our minds in point five seconds, got to the bar like at 10:30 and the place was deserted, they had karaoke but the only one singing was the DJ and some guy singing some slow song, I hate when people karaoke boring songs. Anyhow we heard that we should give this place another chance in the spring or summer because that’s when they are at their best. The bar is officially off the list but more than likely we will give it another go and get back at you with a new review, for now it gets 2 hopeful beers.

Copa

Copa 1-15-10
2805 NW 36th St.
(Located inside of the Havana Inn)
This is a club not a bar though they do have enough space to sit and have a drink if you’re not into dancing. It’s a nice size location though it does get too crowded on a good night so get ready to get elbowed. They have good music and can’t complain about the nice cold beer. I would rate it 4 beers, get ready to get your groove on.
-UV
This one was not really a bar it was actually a club with two bar areas. The place is pretty awesome, except for that one old dancer in the banana hammock, lol, that was a little scary, but much props for doing your thing old dude!. Oh yeah and I had to play peace maker cause some girl was bumping into UV and Jamie and UV sort of nudged her a little with her elbow. I give Copa 4 booty shaking beers.

Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising 1-15-10
2120 NW 39th St.
would say this is not the place for a gal like myself. Though if you like looking at gay naked men on a tv screen or enjoy a game of darts then this is the place for you. I would rate it 1 beer, don’t look at the screen as you chug away!
-UV
This one is another gay bar, the bar was ok, I asked for something sweet and the bartender made me a dirty Shirley, yey my favorite drink, not a lot of places make those. Oh and best of all they had a pee pee slide show going on, hahaha yes I said pee pee don’t judge me! I give it 1 1/2 freaky beers.

JJ'S Alley Pub

JJ'S Alley Pub 1-15-10
212 E. Sheridan
There is nothing better than walking by a bar and getting talked into going inside by a genial bouncer. Seemed like a nice little place to hang out have a drink and a chat. Though it’s a little crowded. This is the place for a guy to meet up with his buddies. I would rate it 3 beers, get ready to get stepped on.
-UV
This bar was not on the list but Dan (the bouncer) was super cool and convinced us to go in. the place was small but cozy, we didn’t check out the second floor which I hear is really nice, maybe after we are done with “the list” we can go back. I give it 2 ½ beers.

Sapphire

(that's Jamie in the middle)
Sapphire 01-15-10
208 E Sheridan
So many words to describe Sapphire. This is the place where you would want to meet up for pre game or have a small party up in the balcony with a great view. If you are looking to meet new people here you will just meet the bouncer and the bartender. I would definitely go back just because I love the way its decorated and its located in the heart of bricktown. I would rate it 4 beers, sit and enjoy the view.
-UV
This bar/lounge is pretty new, the decorations are really nice and they don’t have a cover charge, with this said the bar is pretty lame. It was a Friday night and it was dead, the live music sucked and I had to steal, yes steal a lime cause the bartender was ignoring me although the place was empty. Well the place looks like an awesome chill spot so hopefully management will work on some better promotion for the place. I give it 2 depressing beers.

Tramps

Tramps 1-15-10
2201 NW 39th St.
We went on a Friday, didn’t enjoy it much I was ready to go after half a drink. The place was to dark and creepy looking I guess the name explains it all. I would go back just to watch a drag show. I would rate it 1 beer, chug it down and go!
-UV
Hmmmm….Tramps was kind of dark and scary and I don’t think they had any music playing either. They had a cool little stage but no shows on a Friday night. I give it one creepy ass beer.
-JEICA

Partners

Heard of going out with a bang? Well we went in with a bang, I swear I’m aware of my corniness, we visited 6 bars in one night and it was pretty freaking awesome. It probably won’t be like this all the time, we were just really excited since it was the first crack at “The List” plus it was Jamie’s last weekend in the OKC, so you see we had no choice, we had to do it up. Now to the ratings!

Partners 1-15-10
2805 NW 36th St.
(Located inside of the Havana Inn)
If you seem to be a country guy or gal you will enjoy Partners. Good size bar with dance floor and nice surroundings. You will see more gay guy couples than anything else. I would rate it 2 beers, sit down relax and play pool.
-UV
Partners is a country gay bar, pretty cool and laid back, with dart boards, pool tables and a dance floor that was pretty desolated for a Friday night. All in all a cool little place to chill out and have some fun. I give it 2 chilled beers.
